THE MAN BEHIND THE MASTERPIECE: ROBERT “BOB” CLIFFORD

As a pioneer in green building, Robert “Bob” Clifford is no stranger to successfully integrating environmental technology in commercial and residential construction. From high-end, eco-friendly renovations to modern, multi-million dollar green homes, Clifford has successfully remodeled over 250 homes in the Bay Area.

For over 20 years now, Clifford has continued to subscribe to the ideals of passion and excellence in his works. In 2015, he published a book titled, “Remodeling Stress?: How to Avoid it and Save Time and Money.” In it, he shares the best steps one can take to avoid stress when undertaking a home remodel. All of these stem from his industry experience and expertise.

As a fourth generation builder, his experience and expertise in the field of construction has made him a valuable, in-demand asset for many building projects.

OUR PROVEN PROCESS: THE 4 C’S

We discuss your short-term and long-term plans for your home, covering current design trends that you might be interested in and specific needs/desires you consider nonnegotiable. Then we talk materials, market conditions, timelines. We evaluate site conditions, analyze your current situation, and predict potential cost complications. With all these in mind, we can create 2-3 “Preliminary Design(s)” and “Preliminary Budget(s)” for your dream home.

The value of a product is defined by the ratio of its function to its cost. Through a proven, systematic method we call “Value Engineering,” we’ve saved our clients hundreds—if not thousands—of dollars by choosing only the most valuable options for their project. Borne from 30+ years of combined design and building experience, we are able to control the proposed cost of construction by examining and analyzing the value of each product to find the most functional or most cost-effective one.

We immediately put everything that was discussed in the Concept and Cost Control phases into writing. These documents contain the details, specifications, special agreements, and legal stipulations of the proposed design and/or construction project. And as part of our service, our team can secure all the necessary paperwork— approvals, licenses, certificates, permits—to ensure that the project remains 100% legal. These Contract Documents guarantee shared vision and clear communication throughout.

Once all the preliminary phases have been completed, this fourth and final phase can commence. By far the easiest and most straightforward phase, this stage of the process follows a published schedule that is immediately accessible to every party involved.
